JBL LIVE 500BT Wireless Over-Ear Headphones vs The Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones

JBL LIVE 500BT Wireless Over-Ear Headphones

JBL 1

With a battery life of up to 30 hours, JBL ‘s  LIVE 500BT Wireless Over-Ear headphones let you listen to your favorite music all day. Your favorite music is streamed via 50 mm drivers that deliver JBL’s Signature Sound through wireless Bluetooth technology. Thanks to multi-point technology, you can pair the 500BT over-ear headphones with up to two devices, such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, and turn between the two conveniently when you wish.

Making Phone Calls are Easy

The over-ear headphones also feature a built-in microphone, enabling you to make hands-free calls via your smartphone, or connect to various mobile device software programs, such as Google Assistant & Alexa, for example. Using them to send messages, make calls, answer questions and more; thus tucking away your mobile device in a secure and convenient way. Speaking of convenience, the LIVE 500BT headphones feature a swivel and fold-flat design that helps make them more compact and easier to bring with you.

TalkThru & Conscious Ambient

JBL 2

The LIVE 500BT wireless headphones are the ideal solution for your on-the-go audio needs, but it’s crucial to be mindful of your surroundings when walking outside. With the click of a button, you can activate Ambient Aware which allows you to enter more external noise so you can hear things like announcements more clearly. The music volume is lowered with disabled TalkThru mode, so you can have a quick conversation with those around you, without taking off your headphones.

Multi-Point Link

This technology allows you to pair the LIVE 500BT headphones with two Bluetooth-compatible devices, so you can switch between the two quickly and easily. No more re-pairing for the second headset, or a different collection of headphones. For example, while watching a video on your tablet you can switch to your phone to answer an incoming call or you can easily switch to a video conference call on your laptop while playing a mobile game on your phone.

When the battery runs low on the 500BT the detachable cable can be connected to use it as a standard pair of wired headphones. The cable is fitted with a remote and in-line microphone to keep you able to track your audio, make hands-free calls, and connect with your digital assistant.

Practical ArchitectureJBL 4

The LIVE 500BT headphones have been fitted by JBL with a leather headband and soft ear cushions with all-day battery life, designed to make them wearable over extended periods.

The Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Headphones

Sony 1

The Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless headphones are surprisingly consistent with previous versions like the Sony WH-1000XM2 and Sony MDR-1000X. To put it mildly, they ‘re a powerful pair of noise-canceling headphones that can smash everything that Sony has with both arms behind it.

That’s because, while Bose has done a tremendous job over the years working out his noise cancelation algorithm, Sony has spent the time perfecting audio playback while developing an adaptability algorithm that not only creates a single sterile sound barrier but multiple types that can adapt to whatever situation you ‘re in.

New Style

Probably the biggest changes to the 1000X are seen in the headphone design: they ‘re lighter than the previous model and more form-fitting as well.

Last year, weight-wise, the headphones shed about 1 ounce (22 grams) off the case. That may not seem like a big deal, but considering you’ll wear it for a long time, like, say, a transcontinental flight, every ounce helps.

The other style update is the new flush fit that swaps out the old bridge padding for something a little more cushiony. This makes the headphones more comfortable but also much less dorky when on the neck.

Achievement

  • Strongly eliminating noise
  • Fast Emphasis
  • Made available by aptX and aptX HD
  • Few Audio Output Variations
  • Partnering with Google Assistant
  • Better calling norm-but not perfect

Control on the Battery

  • Battery life: Thirty hours
  • Fast Loading Mode
  • Auto-exit mode via App

Equipment

Sony has put a lot of hardware into those headphones, not to mention the four microphones inside the headphone and outside on the earcups. Noise cancelation of this caliber also involves a lot of running software, which means the WH-1000XM2 has inside a processor chip that runs real-time calculations called the NC1. Add to that a touch-capacitive earcup that is responsive to your touch and starting the price makes a bit of sense.

Changes to USB

Finally, Sony’s last change is to switch the micro-USB port on the right earcup to a USB Type-C that could either reduce or increase the number of cables you need to bring with you depending on the other devices you’re carrying in your pocket.

And how long do those headphones last on a charge? There are many variables but after a few days of testing, we find a good baseline to be about 30 hours or so. They didn’t need to be recharged for a total of four days while the headphones were tested (five hours a day x four days), finishing the final night with the remaining battery life of around 30 percent.

To Sum, it All Up

It is still under the user’s choice if what headphones would be used. Both have ups and downs. So its time or you to choose. Which of both do you prefer?
